Jakarta – The South Korean soccer star, Son Heung-min, recorded two sensational achievements in early December 2019. These achievements were carved by Son on both the Asian and European stages.
Son Heung-min was nominated for the Ballon d'Or 2019. In the event held in Paris on Monday (12/02/2019), Son did not win the title.
He lost to Barcelona star Lionel Messi. La Pulga successfully became the best after surpassing Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk and Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
While Son Heung-min is only in the 22nd position out of 30 nominations for Ballon d'Or 2019. But that seems to be enough to make the Tottenham player record an international record.
Launching from the Korea Herald, Tuesday (3/12/2019), Son managed to become the first Asian player to be nominated for Ballon d'Or since 2007, aka 12 years ago. The last time Asia had a representative at Ballon d'Or was in 2007.
The Iraqi player, Younies Mahmoud Khalad, was in the top 30 Ballon D'Or at the time. After 12 years, Son Heung-min managed to become Asia's representative in the best player award event.
While the second record recorded by Son Heung-min was carved into the Asian scene. Launching from there AFC, Son was named the AFC 2019 Asian Player of the Year on Monday (12/12/2019).
That means, Son has won three of the most prestigious awards in Asia. Previously, Son had received the same award in 2015 and 2017.
The two sensational records were recorded by Son Heung-min in early December 2019. Two records are worth getting in mind of Son's brilliant performance both for his country or at club level.
